Ringo leads Sebastian to a room. It’s initially difficult to identify this room’s purpose, but he gets it once he realizes that the large device in the center of the room is a burner. This is some kind of kitchen. It seems like every member of the crew has followed and are now eagerly waiting in front of the doorway. Ringo shows Sebastian around.
"This thing in the center is the stove." Ringo points.
"Right." Sebastian rubs his 5 o’clock scruff.
"It’s a little spout now, but when the fuel comes through, this thing’s an afterburner!" Ringo gestures his hands from a pinch to an explosion.
"With the number of hands it's claimed, it’s more like a funeral pyre!" A voice from outside the room teases. Several laughs and cheers follow suit.
"Heh heh! Yup. So be careful around her, chef. She’ll singe ye." Ringo’s voice enters a gravely low as he emphasizes the stove’s danger.
The Captain makes her way through the crowd and enters the room. She looks around without saying anything.
"These here are our supplies." Ringo continues his tour, pointing up at a series of tool cabinets that are mounted to the walls. Ringo opens a few of the cabinet doors and pulls out some drawers. Out of the dozens of implements he sees, Sebastian spots maybe three or four that are meant for cooking with.
"There should be some spices over here…" Ringo continues rifling through cabinets. After almost a minute of searching, the closest things he can find are a couple of small pink salt rocks.
"Eh. These are better used for barter. Hmm… Ye know, I think there's some in the loot room…" He scratches his beard as he thinks.
"We can address that later." The Captain states.
"Right, Captain. Anyhow, pots and pans are over there," Ringo points to a large cabinet on the other side of the room. "You’ve got uh… counter space all around. Just clear it as you go along. Never mind what you find, you can just shove it aside."
"Okay." Sebastian begins to feel like he’s just clocked back into work.
"You seem like the polite sort, so don’t hesitate to make the space yours." Ringo haphazardly pushes some clutter around to make more space.
"Right. So. Um. What… should I make?"
"Chef’s choice?" Ringo asks towards the Captain.
"Captain’s choice. Something red." She says as she looks towards a small door on the other side of the kitchen.
It’s a beautiful wooden door with a gold floral trim. Before Sebastian can ask about it, the Captain snaps her head in his direction.
"You brought food with you, yes?" She asks.
"Um. I did… it’s frozen and will need time to thaw—"
Several of the crewmen moan and grumble from outside the door.
June sticks her head out of the crowd. "Just scorch it!"
The crowd cheers loudly.
"Your patrons await. Make it work. Make it red, to pair with a red." The Captain smiles.
"Oh… um what kind of varietal where you thinking?" Sebastian asks.
The Captain tilts her head and smiles wider. "Heavy."
This answer doesn’t exactly give him the information he was looking for, but Sebastian nods with a feigned confidence. The Captain walks away. Ringo steps towards Sebastian and winks.
"Ye’ll be fine, lune. Now follow me close. The crew’s famished, so they might just try to eat ye on the way downstairs." He says.
"Ah."
